Of course, Friedlander is in anyone making any headway with straight, analogue photography these days (and I include digital treated as analogue). No one grows from nothing and the best see and steal from the best. In the best sense of the word, of course.

It is agreed that Leivick’s work is outstanding and exquisite in its visual complexities. However, it should also be noted that this work, without the atmospheric effects, is a descendant of Lee Friedlander’s photographs of the Sonora Desert from the 1990s.
