I found the pairing of the ASO Chorus with the Berlin Phil to be awkward in the extreme. It looked like someone had plunked 100 secretaries and accountants on the same stage with 100 of the world's greatest musicians. Contrast that collaboration with any performance of the Berlin Philharmonic with the Berlin Radio Chorus and you'll see what I mean. They were just being polite.
