Gems of modern architecture in East Georgia: Who knew?
Modern architecture road trip!
I.M. Pei's Chamber of Commerce in Augusta
The Georgia chapter of DOCOMOMO/US, an organization devoted to the appreciation and preservation of modern architecture, has planned a tour of buildings in Thomson and Augusta on April 17. Works by Edward Durell Stone and I.M. Pei are among those on the itinerary, along with examples of Art Deco, Art Moderne and International Style. For details, see the DOCOMOMO Web site.
