More to do on Saturday: “ARTLANTIS, an alternative-gallery arts festival

By Catherine Fox | Jun 4, 2010

As if you don’t already have a lot on your plate this weekend, here’s another event that looks intriguing. The sophomore presentation of ARTLANTIS Music & Arts Festival, which takes place Saturday, June 5 at Druid Hills Baptist Church, is a one-stop showcase of Atlanta’s extensive underground art scene.

An installation by the Plastic Aztecs collective.

Though it is organized by Beep Beep Gallery, venues such as Mint Gallery, Eyedrum, Kibbee and WonderRoot will also be displaying artwork.

Not that I’m disagreeing with the endorsement, but technically Jessica Blankenship from Creative Loafing billed Artlantis as ”a crash course in underground art in Atlanta (and a steamy summer block party while you’re at it).” We just called it fun.

    Thanks for the mention Catherine!

Oh, I don’t know. Barnum would have considered it a perfect example of shameless self-promotion. But misattributed quotes are a no-no. Jessica, your line is better than what I replaced it with.
